On Monday, lines of excited patrons waited for a chance to be one of the first to try to get lucky in Cleveland. Officials said the casino will play host to an estimated 12,000 guests on a nightly basis. The new complex, built in the Higbee Building on Public Square, officially opened its doors at 9:30 p.m. It will take years to know just what effect the Horseshoe Casino will have on Downtown Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, but Monday’s grand opening seemed to be a jackpot.
